About No Guess Minesweeper
Welcome to no guess minesweeper — a complete 16x16 Minesweeper board with 40 mines, first-click safety and synthesized retro sound, running natively in your browser tab.
First-click safety removes the worst kind of loss — dying before you have any information at all. The board speaks in numbers. A three means three of the eight touching squares are mined; a satisfied number means every remaining neighbour is provably safe to open.
Desktop players use the traditional two-button scheme, while mobile players tap the Dig or Flag switch. Either way the mine counter tracks how many flags you still have left to place.
First-click safety is built in. Mines are placed only after your opening dig and never inside the 3x3 area around it, which means every game starts with real information instead of a coin flip. Technically the whole thing is a small React application styled with Tailwind CSS. The page is server-rendered, so search engines and slow connections both receive readable HTML immediately, and the sound effects are synthesized live with the Web Audio API rather than downloaded as files.
Play a single board on a break or a dozen in a row; the game keeps no state and asks nothing of you. Whether you are here for a quick distraction or a serious attempt at a personal best, the board is ready the moment the page finishes loading, and it costs nothing to try again.
